ODOR CRUNCH STAYS FRESH TECHNOLOGY
Odor Crunch is an odor control that is based on a sand and water solution. Environmental odors such as cooking fumes and cigarette smoke tend to stick to your garments.
But once the odor molecules have stuck to the modified silica particles in Odor Crunch, they will be crunched and cracked to smaller odorless molecules and the odor is eliminated for the lifetime of the garment.
OFFENSIVE ODOR CONSISTS OF OXYGEN, NITROGEN, AND SULFUR-CONTAINING MOLECULES. THESE ODOR MOLECULES WILL STICK TO THE MODIFIED SILICA PARTICLES IN ODOR CRUNCH. ONCE THE ODOR MOLECULES ARE ADSORBED, THEY WILL BE CATALYTICALLY CRACKED AND BROKEN DOWN AND THE OFFENSIVE ODOR IS PERMANENTLY ELIMINATED.
How it works?
Odor Crunch stays fresh technology consists of silica, the main ingredient in sand, modified with a unique catalyst that breaks down the odor. Once the odor molecules are adsorbed, they will be catalytically cracked and broken down and the offensive odor is permanently eliminated.
What is the treatment made of?
Polygiene Odor Crunch consists of 95% filtered river water and 5% modified silica sand particles. The patented solution is produced in Sweden. No waste is accumulated during the production process, as all raw material is converted into a final product. It is not a biocide.
Does it have any environmental approvals?
Polygiene Odor Crunch is not a biocide and isn’t liable under the BPR (Biocidal Product Regulation). Polygiene Odor Crunch is a bluesign® approved product and has an Oeko-tex Eco Passports approval, it is also registered under REACH. It also won the SOG (Scandinavian Outdoor Group) Sustainability award 2019.
Can treated garments be recycled?
Yes, treated products can be recycled. The best thing is to leave them to a textile recycling program.
What is the combination product and why is that the best solution?
It is a combination of the Odor Crunch and Biostatic stays fresh technologies based on modified silica particles and silver salt. The combination treatment now covers odors caused by bacteria, such as sweat odor, as well as odors from environmental sources. This means that it is truly providing a “full coverage” odor-free and sustainable solution to the textile environmental issues of today. And it’s, in most cases, the solution we suggest to our partners.
